Five ways to split one bill
Equal splits share the total evenly. Exact amounts let you enter each person’s subtotal. Percentages must add up to 100%, while shares work as ratios. Item mode lets you choose who shared each dish or purchase.
- Enter amounts before added charges. A discount is divided proportionally.
- Tip, tax and service charges can be fixed amounts or percentages; percentage charges each use the subtotal after discount.
- Divide added charges proportionally or equally. Leave a charge at zero if it is already included.
- Use up to 30 people and 40 items. Selecting a different currency changes formatting; it does not convert money.
A whole trip, without a spreadsheet
In group mode, add each expense, choose its payer and select who shares it. Different people can pay for different expenses. The tool combines their balances into a short list of suggested repayments.
The tool calculates amounts; it does not transfer money or record later repayments. Bill entries last for this visit.
A receipt for the whole group
The Result tab shows the total and who pays whom in one receipt. Share image opens a preview with a names-and-title option. Download image saves a PNG of the group split; it is a calculation summary, not proof of payment.
Amounts use whole paise, cents or yen so the shares add up exactly. Rounding units go to the largest remainders, with list order breaking ties. Actual charges and original contributions remain in the Bill details tab.
Frequently asked questions
›Can I share how much everyone owes?
Yes. Share image prepares the full-group receipt for review and native image sharing where supported. Download image saves its PNG. Names and the group title can be hidden in the preview. The page Share icon sends only a link to the tool.
›Can I split a bill unequally?
Yes. Choose exact amounts, percentages, shares or individual items. Enter the original shares first, then add any discount, tip or other charges.
›What if more than one person paid?
For one bill, enable More than one person paid and enter each original contribution. Those amounts must equal the full bill. For a trip, choose a payer for each expense.
›Does the receipt mean anyone has paid?
No. It shows a calculation of who should repay whom. The tool does not send money, confirm transfers or serve as payment proof.
›Will a downloaded receipt change if I edit the bill?
No. Download or share an updated image after changing the inputs. Your current bill entries last while the page remains open; editable drafts and backup files are not provided.
