Use the counted classes from your institution
Attendance is classes attended divided by classes held, multiplied by 100. The tool requires whole class counts, and attended classes cannot exceed held classes.
Subject-wise counting, approved leave, exemptions, rounding and examination eligibility vary. Enter the counts your institution actually uses; this calculator does not automatically exclude medical or duty leave or decide whether you can sit an examination.
Future-class estimates
At 32 attended out of 40 held, attendance is 80%. With a 75% target, two further missed classes leave 32 out of 42, above the target; three leave 32 out of 43, below it.
At 30 attended out of 45 held, attending 15 consecutive classes produces 45 out of 60, or 75%. These estimates assume every future class counts equally and the target stays unchanged. After a missed class, exactly 100% cannot be restored by any finite number of new classes.
Frequently asked questions
›How do I calculate attendance percentage?
Divide classes attended by classes held and multiply by 100. For example, 32 ÷ 40 ×100 = 80%.
›Is 75% always the required attendance?
No. It is only the starting example. Use the requirement published for your institution, programme and class.
›Does medical leave change the result?
The calculator does not apply leave or exemption policies. Use the counted held and attended totals confirmed by your institution.
